Folks Down in Lynchburg Tell a Story About a Travelling Salesman known for his tall tales, who stopped by the hollow.  He found Mr. Jack Daniel and some distillery men fanning themselves on the office porch.  As the story goes, the salesman began to regale them with his tall stories. 

In one particular story, the salesman boasted that he could pour Jack Daniel's Whiskey onto water and the two liquids would stay separate.  He said, "I can make whiskey stand on water!" 

Now, Mr. Jack knew plenty about spirits and knew this couldn't be done.  So he called the man's bluff and offered him a bottle of his prized Tennessee Sippin' Whiskey if he could perform this seemingly impossible feat. 

Much to his surprise, the man pulled out the strangest looking glass Mr. Jack or anyone in Lynchburg had ever seen.  With some water from the nearby cave spring and a little Jack Daniel's from a handy bottle, the salesman easily won his bet.  Mr. Jack was so impressed that he bought the glass and called it the "Chaser Jigger".
